Five Marys Custom Meat Co.

I’ve worked at Five Marys Farms in small town Fort Jones, California for just over 2 years now. The ranch, farm store, shipping shop, office, restaurant, and butchery all within a few minutes of each other.

After years of planning, Mary and Brian opened their Five Marys Custom Meat Co. in 2022, where they can harvest the animals they raise on the ranch and ship directly to a customer’s door… it’s SO impressive.

I was really happy to be able to paint the entrance with Heidi of Handsome Hands Signs. She is a fabulous sign painter and I am so grateful to learn from her!

This is her original lettering and design. We used One Shot Lettering Enamel - which I learned you need to thin out with mineral spirits. It was really interesting working with a new type of paint and learning how different the application (and cleaning) process is from acrylic (which is what I use for mural work).
